A Luxurious Stay in the Gorgeous Nature of Northumberland
Situated amongst rolling hills and tranquil nature, Kidcleugh Hide was truly a beautiful cottage designed for a cozy, comfortable stay! Both of us had just came-off a week of 12-hour on-call shifts at the hospital, and so driving through rural country lanes to reach the luxuriously decorated Hide was like travelling through a portal into peace and tranquility, leaving behind us the mania of city life. We spent our first night just relaxing in front of the wood-burner, and made our own dinner in the well-equipped kitchen. The underfloor heating in the kitchen and washroom was a pleasant surprise! The Hide is well-located for a variety of walks and activities. After a good night?s sleep, we went to Berwick-upon-Tweed for a leisurely stroll along the coast, and then drove to Holy Island to explore a village that appears to have been forgotten by time. The next day, we went to Edinburgh (only under an hour?s of drive away from the Hide) for the Christmas markets, and then drove deep into Kielder Forest to get to one of England?s darkest and cleanest skies (Kielder Observatory) for some star-gazing and to learn about the Northern Lights and meteorites! We even saw a shooting star! Highly-recommend the Hide for a luxurious stay in the gorgeous nature of Northumberland.

Wow wow and wow
What a fantastic place to get away from it all and recharge your batteries. The welcome we received from Stu and Andrea was fab. Full of informative information about the surrounding area, places to visit and where best to eat out. The Hide is stunning both inside and out. So many thoughtful touches .... underfloor heating in the bathroom and kitchen, fabulous toiletries and bed linen that smells and feels devine. Not to mention the personal touches..... a gorgeous chocolate cake and a little treat left in the fridge. A perfect stay. Would thoroughly recommend to all. The pictures don?t show the true beauty of the Hide internally or externally.

Two lovely weeks
This place is something really special the owners are so friendly & helpful with information, you get a lovely welcome basket of wine, chocolates, cake, coffee pods, teas, Evans a welcome pack for our dog,it was our wedding anniversary & my birthday we had a lovely bunch of flowers & a box of chocolates, the info book was excellent, but that's all irrelevant when you open the French doors & walk onto the decking the views are fantastic the patio has a bistro set & two very comfy chairs with a small table, plus a love seat by the pond just perfect listening to the birdsong & 20 minutes from the coast, the harbour seals at Eyemouth, Berwick on Sea, At Abbs, coldingham beach, good Chinese takeaway in Duns Lin vo, giacopazzi's best fish and chips we have ever had, a nice day out is getting a Groupon voucher for the forth bridge boat trip it's a lot cheaper off Groupon at south Queensferry Edinburgh, it takes you out under the forth bridges & out to sea very informative & it's got a bar we had a brilliant two week getaway.

Idyllic week away
Having stayed for a week at the end of March 2017, I can safely say this is one of the most idyllic places we have ever visited & we can't wait to boom our next trip here. The Hide is as beautiful as the pictures suggest; decorated to the highest standard and gorgeous touches like robes & slippers to make you feel even more comfortable. The scenery is breathtaking and to be able to sit on the sofa and see deer, rabbit, birds of prey and pheasants without having to out down the glass of wine was bliss. We visited several coastal towns throughout our week and indulged in the most tasty seafood at the local pubs and restaurants. Could not recommend this place highly enough!!

Perfect stay
We have just returned from a week staying at the Hide. The place is absolutely beautiful with stunning views. We even saw wild deer wandering down the paths. Andrea and Stu are very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble for them. The place was spotlessly clean and luxurious with everything needed for a wonderful break. There is limited mobile reception but the wifi connection is great so no trouble with keeping in touch with anyone. Sky Q is provided and the internet connection is strong enough for live streaming. The Hide is in an ideal location for exploring the local areas and Andrea and Stu provide plenty of information of local places of interest. We can't wait to come back and would highly recommend staying here.
