A clean, comfortable, well equipped apartment in Bude
My family enjoyed our stay at the apartment called Sea Ayr in Bude. The scenery was lovely from the windows in the apartment and it was comfortable, well equipped and ideal for our needs. The only drawback I felt was the road down to the apartment. My husband & I walked into Bude via Maer Lane every day. But the drawback was the traffic along Maer Lane; the lane is quite narrow in parts. The hedges were overgrown along the lane and if had they been cut back at the beginning of the season, it would have helped enormously. Or a reduced speed limit on the lane would also be a deterrent. There is a Holiday Park off Maer Lane, so I would have thought the suggestions above would also benefit their customers. All in all, we had a lovely stay in Sea Ayr and hope to return in the future.

Sea Ayr- excellent ,very well equipped, spacious and clean.
The Cottage was a Flat/ Apartment which we missed in reading the Sykes information. However, the Flat (the owner?s description) was excellent and very well equipped, spacious and clean. We were very pleasantly surprised when we opened the front door. The ?sea side/ beach? theme was visible in all rooms and the outlook via the patio doors was pleasing. The owners had provided scones, cream and Jam along with a litre of milk which was much appreciated after our long Journey. Our stay within ?Sea Ayr? was very quiet which is what we wanted, this I expect was due to the limited number of guests staying in the other apartments. The Flat is part of a larger complex which we were not aware of but it would be fine for a family, and the back lawn was spacious and safe and an ideal place to meet new friends and other holiday makers. The only down side which has absolutely nothing to do with the owners/flat was Maer lane the access lane. The owner did mention that it is somewhat in need of repair, but the craters not pot holes in this lane were huge and in many cases full of water. It does appear that this situation has been an issue for some time and it seems that the local council are unwilling to repair the lane due to a dispute about ownership. Walking to and from Bude is a challenge a good 20 minutes and during peak times one has to avoid the many cars that use the lane where the drivers are unwilling to navigate through the holes and tend to expect the pedestrians to give the cars and vans the easiest passage hence forcing walker to jump into the grass verge. At night, it would be unsafe to use the lane but during the summer months this would not be a problem. However, putting all this aside, Sea Ayr was a great place to stay and chill out, the coast line is spectacular and Bude itself provides many hidden places to explore. I would highly recommend it especially for a small family who don?t mind the walk into Bude where they can spend hours of fun on the excellent beaches.
