Fabulous week in Bluebell cottage
We've just returned from a wonderfully relaxing week staying in Bluebell cottage in Cark. The accommodation is excellent, a proper home from home, absolutely spotless and we were advised particular attention was given to sanitising due to the current pandemic. The hosts, Neil and Alison were brilliant suggesting places to visit and even told us about a ?pop up? bar at nearby Holker Hall. The location of the cottage is perfect with numerous walks around, Cartmel is just a leisurely 40 minute walk through woods to the race course and the centre of the village. We had fantastic weather so took advantage of dining on the patio which was just perfect. I can?t recommend this place highly enough.

Lovely Stay
Bluebell cottage was a delightful place to stay for our little 3 night break. It was just as described and catered for all of our needs.....our only disappointment was that we weren?t staying longer! The owners Neil & Alison were extremely helpful and we would definitely go back.

Perfect relaxing retreat.
Just returned from a four day break at Bluebell cottage in Cark. Wonderful cottage with everything you could ask for provided. We had a warm welcome from the host Neil, who gave us ideas for places to visit in the local area and also recommended "the engine" for food which we found to be excellent. Cark is a great location from which to explore the southern lakes as well as being close to the coast. Well recommended.

Lovely cottage perfectly located for exploring the Lakes and nearby Cartmel
We stopped at Bluebell cottage located in the quaint village of Cark in Cartmel for 5 relaxing nights. The cottage itself was very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and equipped with everything you need for a hassle free holiday. A travel cot and high chair were also kindly supplied for our 6 month old baby which meant we could travel much lighter! The icing on the cake was the cold bottle of fizz left in the fridge for us by the owners, a great surprise after a long journey from Bath; the bottle didn?t last long! We ate at the local pub, The Engine, which serves nice ?pub grub? including proper homemade chips (win!). However a must visit is the cheese shop in Cartmel where you can sample local produce and have a cheeky glass of wine for the cosy wine snug next door. We were graced with glorious weather on the bank holiday weekend so it was even better that we could enjoy this outside in the courtyard. Cartmel is a leisurely 35/40 min walk from Bluebell cottage either by a very quiet single car road or through the woods, both of which were easy with the buggy. There is a train station only a 5 min walk from the cottage which enabled us to have an enjoyable day exploring nearby Silverdale and Arnside. The most enjoyable however was the walk between Wray Castle and Claife Viewpoint along the lakeside path of Lake Windermere which was accessible by car in only 40 mins. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Bluebell cottage and I?m sure it will not be long before we return.

A perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful area on the edge of the lakes
This cottage is perfect for a relaxing holiday. It is well equiped with everything you need to cook if you wish. The beds are comfortable and the outside area is great we visited February so not able to take advantage of this but if visiting in the summer would be a nice spot to sit and take the sun. The village of Cark is nice and friendly. The local pub the Engine especially so, the locals all willing to chat and the staff so helpful too. It is also pet friendly which is great. We will definately visit again and would thoroughly recomend this accomodation.
