Self Catering in East Sussex - Rye

Great potential but.........
I would say that this apartment has a very comfortable lounge and bedrooms. All are furnished to a high standard. It was very clean and the beds very comfortable. It is in a fantastic location and everything in Rye is within a 10 minute walk. However, for a 4* apartment I would have expected more. The door to the street does not lock and the garden is only accessable over a mountain of builders equipment and wood in the corridors. When you get to it it is no longer the beautiful garden protrayed on the web site but an overgrown mess with a green pond. Thoughts of sitting in the sun with a glass of wine were quickly dismissed. There was no starter pack for the log burner only a lot of newspapers and couple of sticks There was no starter pack - washing up liquid etc that would have helped and to be perfectly honest at a 4* rating is expected. The most annoying thing was the amount of noise from the apartment above which was so bad that the windows vibrated so much we thought they were going to fall out. Lots of reviews left at the apartment mentioned the toilet seats - They are still not fixed and you have to sit very precariously. I really wanted to love this apartment but for the price paid I expected more and small things let it down. However Rye does not disappoint and is well worth a visit.
