It's a Sandy Cove!
The location is magical! The beach basically greeted me at the doorstep, or should I say deck step! I worked my way around the local beaches as the tide changes allowed, observing the vast array of Cornish wildlife and local characters. This is a working travellers dream location! Fast wifi, a super quiet, clean and modern space, the apartment provided much needed clarity to write my travel blog. The first evening I met a load of friendly people at the Blue bar across the dunes and ended up surfing with them the next morning after renting a surfboard and wetsuit on the beach. The surfboard rack in the property came in handy as did the outdoor hose, this beach its seriously sandy! The sea was way warmer than the waves back in Scotland, and I was treated to sunny weather all week (except one day of rain and wind-as is to be expected on the coast). My only gripe was the garden next door, nothing to do with this property but it would be nice if it was decked as nicely as Sandy Cove. Would Recommend!

Grotty property
We were sold this site as a luxury apartment by the beach. The location was perfect but for the price we paid we expected a nicer property. It is in a grotty block of flats with the surrounding properties mainly derelict. There is also a public right of way through the patio. As we arrived the fridge and cooker were dirty also the covers on the sofas very stained. The patio has a sofa which is also grotty and not pleasant to sit on. There is hardly any outside furniture, a table would have been handy! Basically the photos and description very misleading. Sykes gave us a ?50 refund which was a bit of an insult really.

Perfect location, superb apartment!!!
This apartment is fab, my family and I have had the most memorable week here these holidays. After spending a week here a few years back we?ve got to know the place rather well, and returning this summer it felt like coming home... Everything here is so practical and clean we couldn?t ask for any more. The beach is on the door step and also a play park which my kids (5 + 7) absolutely loved. We?ll be returning for sure. Thank you Sandy Cove. P.S we loved the welcoming scones.

Disappointing
The photos on the Sykes Cottages advert are selling a beautiful dream but unfortunately the reality is rather different. Positives - location near the beach, nice 'Blue Bar' bar/restaurant nearby. Negatives - the village is not 'quaint' as described (although it is OK). As you approach the 'apartment' you realise it is in a grotty block with a derelict apartment both upstairs and next door. The major seling point of the beautiful deck is a complete con as the hedge is now overgrown, other people can walk through and everything is generally grotty. The apartment is small, cramped and far from the quality one would expect for the price.

A soul warming - home away from home!
We first visited this home a couple of summers ago and we loved it so much we returned again, this time for a winter break. Although it was a totally different vibe, it was equally as relaxing and the coastline was possibly even more beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed the cream teas the owners lovingly provided for us, as we sat on the cosy deck at sunset (even with the light winter winds blowing onshore). I can?t fully explain what this place means to my partner and I in words, but it truly warms our souls every time we visit. We spend a lot of our time travelling to beautiful places around the world but Sandy Cove is fast becoming a favourite home away from home. Although some of the beach house owners in this development have allowed their apartments to become a little weathered, Sandy Cove is extremely well maintained and you can tell a lot of love and energy has gone into creating just the right space to welcome guests. We have already decided to revisit this summer and it cannot arrive too soon!
