Potentially fabulous spoiled by poor attention to the basics
Fabulous concept in a beautiful remote location. This property was sadly let down by substandard bed linen with the wrong size of duvet for the bed, hard and random towels and scrappy gowns one with one belt missing. The hot tub was leaking and half covered by a tarp rather than the proper lid so that it was never quite the 'hot' experience that it should be as you had to keep adding more water. Some of the items provided in the kitchen were dirty and unpleasant and the wood supplied to us was chopped up old furniture rather than properly seasoned logs so it didn't give off proper heat. The wood burner had not been cleaned out before we arrived. The wifi was not working and had not been working before we arrived (previous review). It took 5 days for them to get this resolved. It was a really beautiful place to walk dogs from and we would have loved to return here but it really wasn't okay on the basics and poor value for money. On the first day we went out and bought bed linen and kitchen utensils so that we could feel comfortable. The owners were away and the person left in charge, whilst a lovely person, was unable to resolve our issues quickly. Very disappointing.

A warm welcome and relaxed stay
A lovely secluded spot, well appointed and comfortable with quirky yet tasteful furnishings. Thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome from our hosts, the attention to detail including some lovely goodies and treats for us and the dogs, and the use of a wonderful hot tub without having to do the work to light it! Highly recommended and will be back.

Wow!! 6****** if possible
The Tin Barn is quirky beautiful retreat in the rolling hills on outskirts of the forest of Dean. The accommodation is spacious and prefect for two with a large lounge area and kitchen. The bedroom has the wow factor with a four posted bed and en suite roll top bath. Then there is the fantastic wood fired hot tub with views to die for. Lit everyday by the hosts and they ask you how you want it. There are lovely little touches such as the dvd, puzzles and welcome hamper. The location is wonderful, just a short drive from Gloucester with its Catherdal and Quays shopping centre. Take a stroll or drive through the forest and visit places like cinderford or lydney. Further afield is Ross a beautiful market town and Symonds Yat, which is worth a trip!! The hosts were incredible and very helpful even when we got lost.

A WONDERFUL WEEK TO RECHARGE THE BATTERIES!!
Jane & Lee were excellent hosts and they emphasized NOT to hesitate about asking them for anything .. However small or big it may seem .. THEY ARE THERE SO YOU CAN GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR STAY from picking up extra shopping for u from town, to more candles & lighters, firelighters for the log burner, picking up a local yummy takeaway, extra kitchen equipment needed not already there, to knowledge on local walks & most importantly what the goats favourite biscuits are!! The goats are a rescue Mum & Daughter and will gently eat rich tea/ digestive biscuits from your hands!! The badger sett at the top of the adjacent hill was amazing with all the tunnels and apparently if you are there late Spring - early Summer you can sit and watch the baby badgers playing up on the grass. There's a fully equipped DVD player & TV with channels & a lovely cosy log burner inside if you want to chill this way, but for me the highlight was sitting in the LOG BURNER HOT TUB every night looking up at the stars and listening to the owl hooting in the near by woods.. It was so nice to close your eyes and hear PEACE & QUIET & NO TRAFFIC!! You can USE the HOT TUB any time NIGHT or DAY and ANYTIME THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, which was a REFRESHING CHANGE as a lot of other holiday lets seem to have restrictions on OPENING TIMES & THE TIME OF THE YEAR you can use them. They come and light the hot tub every day about 3 hours before you need to use it which I thought was great customer service too!!.. So Thanks once again Jane, Lee, Bear & family for a restful stay I haven't had a holiday for a while and this week has definitely RECHARGED MY BATTERIES!! xx Would highly recommend!!

Oh My God, Where Do We Start?!
Our stay at the Tin Barn was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. Lee even helped carry our shopping in. The trip was a present from my partner for my 50th. She couldn?t have booked anywhere more romantic. Lee and Jane have created a little piece of heaven here. The Tin Barn was a real home from home. They?ve thought of everything you might need and provided it. The welcome hamper was a really lovely gesture and crammed with gorgeous goodies. This has definitely got to be one of the best places we?ve ever stayed and we can?t wait to go back. Our dog Pixie loved it too! Save a biscuit or two for Edna and Jessica, the resident goats as they have a sweet tooth. Our tips would be the Woodman Inn for a lovely Sunday lunch and Symonds Yat for a pretty walk. Thanks for everything Lee, Jane and family.
