Incredibly peaceful stay
What an amazing barn conversion. The entire set of holiday homes are stunning. Beautifully presented and finished to a high quality. The staff are friendly and attentive, very discreet when monitoring the hot tubs. Whitewell cottage has been designed to be ideal for wheelchair users with care support. The kitchen has most everything you need (just remember to take salt, pepper and vinegar if you want chips) the owners are fantastic and we suggested some extra bits and bob's which would be helpful and those were ordered before we left, meaning they really do listen to you. The cottage was so quiet and we had deer visit the field behind us making for an extra special stay. The pheasants were also chattering all week giving you that authentic countryside retreat feel. It's an ideal base for visiting Preston city (home of Beeches Fine Chocolates, as sold by Mark's and Spencer) and the lake district, colne valley is also nearby with the flagship headquarters of Boundry Mills only 25 mins away from the cottage. We had some friends over for tea and this was not a problem with the overflow car park available to us. The cottage is all on one level, the disabled accessible guest room has a large wet room en suite with grab rails and shower chair. Towels and robes were provided as well as tea and coffee and some wood for the wood burner in the living room. This cottage is ideal for full time wheelchair users with care support, independent wheelchair users may struggle as the hob and kitchen is at standard height though they are designed for you to get your knees under. The king size beds can be made up as twin rooms. We had a fantastic stay, so peaceful and calm so we will be back.
