This beautiful converted barn is located near Taunton in Somerset and sleeps two people in one bedroom.

The pretty village of Kingston St Mary lies at the southern end of the spectacular Quantock Hills - England's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In Kingston St Mary, Little Fulford Barn has been recently converted to elegant accommodation, set over two floors. On the ground floor the smart kitchen/diner with its feature map wall, is bright and sunny.

A half flight of stairs leads to the first floor, where the lounge has a beamed ceiling and rich wooden floors. Patio doors open to the garden which overlooks the adjoining paddocks and countryside beyond. The enormous bedroom is light and airy with an en-suite bathroom and doors opening to a lovely Juliet balcony.

Just four miles away is the thriving county town of Taunton for shops, restaurants, theatre, cinema and for those seeking to add a little culture to their holiday, the Museum of Somerset is housed in the historic Taunton Castle.

Visit off season for railway 40s weekend
We spent an idyllic week here - originally booked to explore the railway nearby but even happier to find 40s weekend going on. The barn is a delight with all mod cons and many thoughtful touches, space for the dog to run and all spick and span inside and out - even barbecue facilities! Definitely recommend it. Be aware the roads around are country lanes and be glad you're here and not bringing a caravan! Shops are in Taunton and Bishop's Lydeard. Not the village. Plenty of farms shops in the area too.

It felt like home and had absolutely everything you might need
First off it might help to know we spend 1 - 2 months every year in the UK, mostly staying in self-catering so we have a lot of experience. This place had everything we needed. We cooked for family and had all the utensils and tools necessary including good quality pots and pans. The rooms were light and airy. The outside sitting area was warm and protected from the wind. Great to unwind and discuss the day's events with wine of course. The view from the field was special. In addition to the horses in the next pasture there were the crows each night, rabbits, deer, and a hawk. Shower was great, bed comfortable, and the owners were very sweet and helpful. Really hated to leave knowing our next stay would never live up to this one..
