Excellent cottage
The cottage is lovely and cosy very close to restaurants, bars and shops. The cottage is lovely decorated throughout and the sensor lights on the stairs are a nice touch. Would recommend Brodies gin bar and the Stag hotel.

Excellent Cottage - Lovely Owners
Our experience couldn?t have been further from the negative review below. The place is pretty small (clue is in the name!) but it's really beautifully furnished, has a comfy king sized bed and all mod cons including two bathrooms. There's been a lot of care put into this place, loads of personal touches and plenty of luxe. It's a stone's throw from the historic town centre, plus the best place to eat in town is a few doors down. We had no problem parking and the entire town has abundant free parking within a minutes walk or so. One word too about the owners - a previous review made them sound uninterested, but they were so generous and kind to us - just really good people who made us incredibly welcome. We?d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Not 5* deep clean needed and lack of care by Sykes Cottages who overcharge for this accommodation
We were really disappointed. Not just with the accommodation but the lack of care and service received from Sykes. The cottage needed a deep clean, there was no form of welcome or basic info. The bed had no mattress protector, the mattress was very well used and dented and the towels were tired. The main road outside is busy and noisy, parking is on the main road when you can find it. We won?t ever book with Sykes again, they way overcharged on this property and they ignored our requests for help and complaint. I have written a 1* review for Sykes but I imagine it will never see the light of day so I am writing this review to save others from making the costly mistake we did. This accommodation is fine if you want a place to lay your head whilst exploring Dumfries but don't pay the extra for the touches of luxury or high standards as they just weren?t there. I appreciate our review and experience seems different to others and I can?t explain why we?ve been treated differently. An explanation has never been offered by Sykes or the owner.

A cosy stay
We stayed here for 6 nights in the middle of July,it was a lovely wee cottage that was very easy to find, parking was never a problem(right outside),the cottage had everything you would need for a weeks stay, the bed was really comfy...so much so we were able to sleep with the bedroom window open,we sat outside a couple of times as it's a wee sun trap at the front, the cottage is literally 2 minutes around the corner from moffat town centre, which is a lovely wee town with lots of nice wee shops....and a brilliant interior design shop,,we loved it so much we are coming back in August.

Fab long weekend.
After a long drive Down the Friday, we were warmly welcomed by Jane. She's had already got the cottage nice and warm for us and set the fire. She had also provided us some essentials bread, milk, eggs etc. The cottage is ideal for two people and a wee dog . The cottage is in a perfect location for walks, drinks and food. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. Thanks again for a great weekend.
