Needs cleaning and smells musty
Lovely spot on the coast - great for walks. The local pub was very nice and only a short trip to Bamburgh and Lindisfarne. The cottage itself is a back to back one storey terrace with paper thin walls. You can hear the tv in each adjoining ?cottage? as well as talking and barking Whilst the layout and services provided were ok, the cleanliness was not so good. Raising this with the owner did prompt a fairly quick response and the cleaner arrived about 45 minutes later to clean. She maintained that it had been cleaned already. It clearly hadn?t. I scraped lots of dog hair off the carpet in the bedroom with my plimsoll. My husband cleaned the bathroom floor with some kitchen towel that went black. The corners of the rooms smelled musty. There was mildew in the corners of the bedroom by the bed head. The bathroom was pretty poor - mildew on the windowsill, cabinet not cleaned inside, hair and dust round the corners of the floor etc. We took out the little wicker side tables in the bedroom because they smelled and one was ingrained with dust and hair. In the guest book some have mentioned the cleaning issue as well as comments on the Sykes website. We didn?t have time to google feedback on this place. We always do - just shows what you get if you don't do your research!

Good value for money
This was our second visit to Beadnell, but our first time staying in this accommodation. It found to be homely, clean, well equipped, well maintained and overall comfortable. Our dog loved the garden area at the front of the property and spent many an hour at the gate watching the world go by. The property is close to all amenities pub, beach and shop. It provided a good base for some excellent walks. For example Low Newton, Seahouse and Bamburgh. If we wanted to go further afield it has good road links to Alnwick, Berwick, and all of the border towns. We found we didn't want to go to far as the beaches are fantastic and we could walk for miles with our dog.
