This semi-detached cottage is in the village of St Issey near Padstow in Cornwall and can sleep three people in two bedrooms.
Gwent Cottage sits in the pretty village of St Issey, just over three miles from holiday hotspot Padstow. Away from the hustle and bustle, this smart semi-detached stone cottage with an enclosed patio garden is the perfect retreat for couples, families and city escapees seeking some glorious R&R. It sits in the heart of the village, adjacent to a quaint 17th century inn which is dog-friendly and offers proper Cornish ales, a delicious home cooked menu, an impressive roster of live music and a log burning stove in winter.
Tastefully modernised, interiors have a traditional Cornish cottage feel with a stone fireplace, thick pale walls and exposed beams. There are two bedrooms including a double with an en-suite bathroom and a single. Guests in the single bedroom have the use of a separate shower room.
There is a comfortable sitting room with a roaring open fire, good art, books, games and a TV/DVD. The compact kitchen adjoins a large utilities area with a fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Eat at the chunky wooden dining table or outside in the suntrap patio garden which offers a good level of privacy and is bright and cheerful with flowers in summer.
Just the property for families with children, there is a large entertainment room set beneath the eaves on the second floor. Handy for wet weather days, you will find a TV, Super Nintendo, traditional board games, books and a games table including table football and pool. Gwent Cottage is perfect for couples and families for breaks at any time of year.

Idyllic cottage with log burner, enclosed patio for dogs and pub next door for humans!
Really cosy cottage, the facilities and equipment were well thought out. We have two greyhounds so needed an enclosed, secure patio for them which was ideal. We really enjoyed the log burner, very relaxing to watch. There was also a bathroom en suite in the master bedroom but also a shower room, so the wife and I could have one each! We didn't get round to using the games room in the eaves, but it was a great idea. They're were plenty of logs and Prosecco, biscuits and milk on our arrival was a nice touch. The pub next door was very welcoming and we enjoyed some delicious meals in there.

Family Holiday 2019
Our annual trip to Cornwall was based at Gwent Cottage this year, after booking it via the Sykes Cottages website.
We are still here for another couple of days & loving it. The village is lovely & the cottage is directly over the road from the Ring ?O? Bells pub, which is good food.
The cottage is compact but big enough for myself, husband & 14 year old daughter & dog.
Small enclosed garden is ideal for letting the dog roam around, complete with small utility room to make use off.
The kitchen is well equipped and on arrival we found coffee, tea, sugar, milk & a complimentary bottle of Prosecco left for us, which is a lovely touch.
The beds are really comfortable & a good night sleep had by all. Bed linen & towels supplied are of very good quality.
A very comfortable place to stay & great position for our favourite beach at Treyarnon Bay. We would seriously look at booking it again, dependent on price.
