Great location - average accommodation
This house is in a great location -literally a few minutes walk from the centre of keswick. Our hosts were also really supportive with us having to rebook due to covid restriction in the previous year. I have to say though that the house is really cold for much of the morning - not ideal when our toddler wakes early. I agree with previous comments about cleanliness too - whilst the house was clean it was extremely dusty. So dusty in fact that we had to leave several days early as it was exacerbating our toddlers asthma. Expecting customers to hoover the entire house prior to leaving so that the cleaner has more time is also entirely unreasonable for the amount of money we were paying! We were quite shocked by this to be honest. It may also explain the dustiness of the house!
My advice would be that if you are charging premium prices, don't forget the small touches that help your customers feel they are getting a premium experience. We have paid a lot less for properties where we have been warm, clean and been given a nice little welcome pack.Sadly we wouldn't stay again for what we paid and would look around for warmer and cleaner accommodation next time we visit beautiful Keswick.

Good location, cleanliness a lot to be desired
The house it's self is in a good location. Quite tired on the inside and could do with some tlc. What was really disappointing was how dirty the house was. We found we had to clean plates before using them. Worse was to come however when I found my son sleeping on top of his bed because the bedding was dirty. On further inspection virtually all the bedding had some kind of stains on them, it was disgusting! We put the heating on all night to stay warm. When I got home I sent a complaint, complete with photo evidence to them. The owner of the property lied to Sykes cottages when told of the complaint. They said they phoned me on arrival and asked if everything is ok, apparently I said 'yes'. Amazing really since they didn't have my mobile number. They also lied about the bedding. They said they inspected the beds when we left and they were clean, again a lie, because I removed all the bedding and put it in the kitchen for washing. Sykes cottages offered me a small refund, which I accepted. An apology would of sufficed from the owner but I would of waited forever and a day. I have noticed looking at other reviews that cleanliness is a problem for the owner, I wish I'd of read the reviews before booking. Sykes cottages are aware of why I waited until I got home to complain.

Great location but unclean and tired house
This house is in a fantastic location and could be a wonderful house. The property was dirty and poorly maintained. We contacted the owner during our stay who did send someone to do some of the outstanding maintenance and then the cleaner came back but both of these measures only scratched the surface. It's such a shame that the house has been neglected in such a way.

Nice place to stay - plenty of room
We booked this place last minute and Jill was very helpful and accommodating. We are 4 middle aged women doing a bit of a quick look around the North of England. Keswick was a great place to visit and Jubilee Cottage is very roomy with a good sized kitchen, separate good sized dining room and comfortable lounge room on the ground floor. The second floor has 2 large bedrooms, a shower room and main bathroom and the upper floor has another 2 roomy bedrooms. Comfortable beds and nice and clean - bedrooms all had a wash basin and mirror. It has a front courtyard with seating and when the weather was clear, was a great place to sit!! Very close to town centre and an easy walk even for the oldest of us to have a wander around the town square.

Perfect location but house needs a bit of tlc
Stayed in this house for a week with family ranging from 17 years to 76 years of age
On arriving it was a nightmare to park but we did eventually get parked outside the house but didn't move the car all week incase we couldn't get parked up again
House is very spacious with four good sized bedrooms but the stairs up to the two bedrooms in the loft are very steep . The stairs leading from the first floor bedrooms to the bathrooms are a accident waiting to happen and the older member of my family had to sleep downstairs because of this .
Kitchen was spacious but there was only two tea towels left and no oven gloves .
We were only left two towels per guest and there was no spare bedding or towels left .
The front gate was propped up against the wall and there was only one gate on the back wall . The Windows needed cleaning and there was a dead spider on one of them.
Location wise it was perfect right near the town
The house needs some tender loving care to bring it back up to date
