Idyllic break in The Lakes
The windy road leading up to the accommodation is a treat on its own as the breath taking views leave the driver a little anxious, as the anticipation builds? The house is just breath taking and full of character as well as all the modern comforts. Downstairs the kitchen dining area is spacious and a great area to unwind. Also plenty of seating space to relax next to a large log burning fire. Also a lovely snug room is available, so plenty of room! The utility room is spacious and houses a large double fridge, and was an excellent dog bedroom for our furry friends. The bedrooms are all very unique and very comfortable with high quality bedding. They are very individual with lots of character. The landing upstairs is an experience !! The natural contours of the house make you lose balance as the lounge below is visible through the gaps.. or was that the drink? Outside in the garden the luxury hot tub is situated on decking with incredible views. A great BBQ area and loads of room to relax? Also a games room with pool table provides solace for those with a competitive nature! We enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend this unique property to compliment the breath taking beauty of the surrounding area.

Characte,r relaxation, beautiful surroundings!!!! Idyllic
As you carry on up the hill for two miles you cannot think you are going to find a property as beautiful and calming as Carhullan. From the welcome hamper to the amazing views, the beautiful rooms with so much space to the hot tub look king out on the wild ponies on the hills. You cannot help but feel relaxed and enjoy time with friends and family. Everything has been thought of with a lovely paddock for the dogs and games and a kitchen that is a pleasure to cook in while chatting and sipping a glass of wine. Character in abundance I cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely be back. Thank you.

Long weekend in June
It's rare to find a property that has been restored so sympathetically and with such love but also enjoys all the modern creature comforts with such high quality fixtures and fittings. From the hot tub,log burner, to the high specification kitchen and bathroom suites everything in the cottage has been put together so well. Outside the property is set in such beautiful, idyllic surroundings it would be hard not to relax and enjoy a holiday here. Watching the swallows dart in and out of nests to feed the little chicks to the sheep grazing in the fields, you can see what inspired Wordsworth and co. The paddock makes a great area for outdoor play for dogs and people and the lawn, complete with wood fired BBQ is a great entertaining space. There are lots of lovely trails for walking, running and cycling and located close to Ullswater it's an ideal base for all outdoor activities. If you get time there is also excellent broadband to post the inevitability beautiful photos you will take and high spec digital TV. A marvellous time was had by all of us

Even better second time around!
We stayed at Carhullan late 2019. Feeling fortunate to find such a gem, we booked again for 2020. Somehow the owners have managed to improve the experience! The cottage and its content ooze quality from the log burners to wine glasses, clearly no expense spared. Really surprised to see a new coffee machine, hot tub and TVs. If your looking for somewhere to unwind & switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, look no further. Carhullan ticks every box, and more. Thanks for creating such a relaxing environment- we will of course be back again and again and again.

fantastic stay
Wonderful place for some well deserved peace and quiet, warm and cosy which is exactly what you want on a sometimes windy hillside. Super clean and tidy with all amenities you need. Hot tub is such a bonus after a long afternoon walk, have stayed before and will absolutely be returning ASAP!
