This detached former vicarage is in the village of St Issey in Cornwall and can sleep 12 people in 6 bedrooms.

St Issey Vicarage is a detached a Grade II listed Georgian manor house situated in the pretty village of St Issey, which is 2 miles from the delights of Padstow and the north Cornish coast. It is an ideal launch pad for coastal adventures with the sandy beaches at Harlyn Bay, Treyarnon, Trevone and Constantine and a stunning coast path within a 10 minute drive. Padstow, with its reputation as a top UK foodie destination, is home to the famous restaurants of celebrity chefs, Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth as well as fashionable art galleries and boutique shops.

The Ring O Bells pub is across the road and well known locally for serving good quality Cornish ales and home cooked food. A traditional holiday home set within ? acre of grounds, St Issey Vicarage is perfect for big family get-togethers with masses of space for you and your brood. Enter through a splendid arched doorway into an architectural gem with six bedrooms and six bathrooms, four of which are en-suite.

Just off the hall is a library area stocked with good books, a formal dining room for celebratory feasts and a drawing room for after dinner drinks. Continue along the hall to the rear of the house where an informal dining room, with seating for 12 guests, and a bespoke kitchen come together as one and create a laid-back space to spend time together. A snug with plump settees and a big screen TV, wet room and WC completes the ground floor accommodation.

Children will love the large wrap-around lawn garden which is well screened from view and the basement games room with a pool table whilst parents relax on the terrace patio with garden furniture. St Issey Vicarage is a perfect homestay at any time of year.


A lovely property but flawed
l agree virtually with all the comments made by the July 2019 reviewer. The main problem was the plumbing . We were virtually without a downstairs toilet fror the whole week . lt was blocked. Showers and an en suite basin drained very slowly. When a property has been rated 5 star and is priced at ?4500 a week you would expect better! Since our return home l have emailed Sykes cottages, the agents on several occasions and phoned . Except from one returned phonecall apologising for delay in replying and assuring me that they were looking into my concerns,.Nothing. ,This is in the context that the plumbing issues had been reported in December 2018!

Wonderful Property with some issues
This property is very spacious and in a wonderful location for access to Padstow, Trevone beach & several other beaches. You will need to drive to all locations apart from the local pub unless you are an avid walker. The property whilst refurbished is now quite tired & in need of some maintenance(needs painting, some plumbing issues, some furnishings need replacing, lights not working & bulbs need replacing) & the garden also needs sprucing up. The property is advertised as a family second residence but its clear that the family has not occupied the residence since its refurbishment as the kitchen is not functional as a family Kitchen Issues we encountered were: 1) property is not at all Toddler friendly as there are many hard floors, different levels, many hard and sharp edges on furniture and no stair gates on either staircase. We dis ask for stairgates but were informed that the Landlord would not allow them. This of course is not in line with the Landlords H & S duty of care requirement 2) Clean towels & sheets are not changed during the week & for the cost of the property is poor & indeed would be difficult if the property was fully occupied & some wet days were encountered. 3) The garden is furbished with a patio & upright chairs but has no lounger chairs should you wish to sunbathe in the large grounds. 4) There is a constant damp smell in the property and we could not eliminate this despite leaving most of the upstairs windows open for 24 hours a day. It was very warm & sunny for all of the 7 days we were there. 5) Access is not allowed on the arrival day until 4:00 pm and you must leave by 10:00 am so you essentially lose a day of your holiday - the booking in time needs to be earlier than 4:00pm 6) We encountered plumbing problems with the downstairs toilet on day one & this prevented its use for the entire week. We also experienced drainage issues with the wet room in the master bedroom. Its also worth noting that one of the en-suite toilets uses a macerator so is quite noisy should you use it in the night
