fab holiday would love to return at Christmas
Have just returned from a weeks holiday at whitlow farm house with a family of 11 ages ranging from 68 to 8..... what a fantastic house and the views were amazing. Enough bedrooms and bathrooms for us all and the kitchen diner was a lovely place to sit and eat. We were very lucky with the weather and the outside space as lovely for morning coffee of bbq and drinks later in the day. The owner over the way was helpful. Couple of minor things to mention, not enough drinking glasses for all 11 of us, the bath could do with a rail as very slippery when getting out!!! We found we couldn?t enjoy the walks around the house as cows, bulls and bullocks everywhere. Other than the field in front of the house it was a nuisance having to get into the car to go down the rough track to the main road to find a walk. The pubs in Alston are not very welcoming, however we did eat at Alston house and coach house nearby and had a lovely Indian from the takeaway in Alston. Plenty of things to do but you had to drive 40 mins to get anywhere.

Family weekend away
We have just returned from a wonderful weekend in this rental home, we are a family of 9 adults, 2 children (ages ranging from 80-2) and 2 dogs. The accommodation was a perfect sized family home for us to stay in. The views and walks are amazing and as it's a working farm the children loved the sheep in the fields. The house is beautiful inside, with traditional wooden floors in the hall and kitchen area, which also has a warming wood burning fire. The bedrooms are fabulous sizes and with 1 large bath / shower room upstairs and 2 shower rooms downstairs this was great for us getting ready each day. The heating and water was always warm throughout the day, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for cooking. We could not fault this accommodation at all and we have all had a lovely relaxing ?family? weekend together making memories... we would definitely recommend this place for large families or groups of friends.

Perfect for our family weekender
Wow...what a amazing place. Lovely and inviting. Enough space for all. We spent most of our time in kitchen/dining room all together and the kids in the living room. We came in March and although the weather wasn't great it was a good place to be as we were all together, we liked having a table that sat all 9 of us...we usually have to feed kids then the adults. Lovely village nearby. Bedrooms were a good size and we had the choice of 3 bathrooms, so no queuing for the shower. I liked the separation of utility area to the rest of the house...wet dogs had somewhere to dry off and a place for dirty shoes. I wish we could have stayed longer and would love to come back for longer and hopefully better weather. My brother spoke with farmer/owner who was very friendly and chatty.
