Dirty, dated and in need of some tlc!
First the positives;
- good size accommodation for a large party/family
- hot tub
- beautiful views and location
- great games room and garden space to entertain the kids
- plenty of off road parking
Now for the negatives;
- this property needs a deep clean, cobwebs all over the place, floors, windows, cupboards all dirty. Even had to clean the crockery before we could use it.
- broken furniture in the bedroom
- stains all over the blind in the kitchen window
- handles missing off the kitchen units
- unable to use the bath all week which we were not told about until arrival
- living room smells of dogs and so we didn?t use it
- down stairs bathroom needs regrouting and had mould growing in it. Also very slippy floor with no mat.
- upstairs toilet was not working upon arrival (this left us with only one working toilet for 8 people!) and it was four days later before it was fixed.
- no proper step up to the back door- this was a broken paving slab which was dangerous
- most of the crockery had chips in it (this was replaced after we had complained) which again was dangerous
Basically the property does not look like the pictures in the advert and is in need of a deep clean and some of the furniture needs replacing/updating. Very disappointed.
Great Family Accommodation
Just home today after our half term stay with our family and two babies (19 months & 7 months). The space downstairs, including the garden was ideal for the 19 month old. The play area was also a hit with him. Everyone was able to find their own space if needed. The large kitchen area was also ideal . Space upstairs was also good. We made the most of the hot tub and games room which is such a bonus, especially if the weather is not too great.
Great views from the garden and we even saw an owl in flight!
Lots of lovely beaches all within about a 5 mile range. Particularly liked Morfa Nefyn beach with great pub which you can walk along the shore to. Llanbedrog was lovely too with a nice beach bar.
We had such a great week and would recommend this to any larger family/group.
Couldn?t work out what was happening with the rubbish collection as several of the bins were full to bursting when we arrived and even more so when we left!
We booked this house through a country cottage website and we were a bit disappointed. The furnishings downstairs were a bit shabby (definitely in need of an upgrade) and there were several issues in the kitchen. Firstly, a short barefoot walk around the kitchen left our feet filthy (must have been a LOT of grime in those tiles), a cupboard door was dangerously hanging off its hinges and there was no handle on the dishwasher door. The outside windows were also badly in need of a good wash!
These problems were reported in reviews (on another site) over a year prior to our visit, so it was surprising to see they?d still not been fixed. As the house appears to be booked back to back all year round, it looks as though there's never any time to do any maintenance or deep cleaning. I would say it needs to be taken out of service a couple of times a year, just to give it a really good clean and fix all the ongoing maintenance issues. All in all, felt it was over-priced for what it was.
Amazing house - would go back tomorrow
So many plus points - loads of parking, quiet (except for our teenagers) massive rooms including sitting room, conservatory, kitchen and games room. Lovely garden with a barbecue, outdoor seating and room for our volleyball net. Hot tub was great and used a lot. Fridge was massive with an ice machine, washing machine and drier in a separate room. Amazing location to visit the nearby towns, castles, beaches and activity centres. I noticed the moaning from the reviewer below. I could mention the odd qualm as well - only having two bathrooms being the most obvious one - but overall this was a brilliant holiday home for a group of adults with teenagers and we?d recommend it to anyone.
