Great location
Stayed here as an emergency alternative to camping. The staff at the campsite were really friendly and helpful. It is good, very spacious and clean. Close to all the places you want to visit and plenty of walks from your doorstep. Shop and plenty of pubs to choose from in the town for dinner. Some bits are a bit basic, no coasters, placemats and i was always brought up not to put hot things on wooden surfaces. We used most of the equipment we had brought for camping such as tin foil, cling film, washing up liquid, scourer, hand soap in the toilets The shower was just about adequate as no pressure behind it. No clothes airer to dry out your walking gear and no radiators as its heated by storage heaters and an electric fire in lounge We have paid similar prices elsewhere and had better facilities. Never stayed in a cottage where you have to strip your own bed and leave laundry in foyer. That said, the bed was comfy, the garden was nice with a BBQ, there is a dishwasher and washing machine and the cottage was spotless. We would stop here again, but we now know what to take with us to avoid an extra shop

Taking advantage
This is an honest account of my experience of this business but does contain opinions of the management and cottage. My husband and I were staying locally, wanting to support Pooley Bridge in their time of need. I am a local but live away and instead of having a break elsewhere decided to stay in pooley for the weekend. My son and his lovely girlfriend wanted to join us so I called park foot camp site. I have known this place for years, long before it's current size. They offered me a cottage for my son at £50 a night. (I will say the phone kept cutting out, I presumed the weather was causing interference with their phone lines.) Fabulous, so I took it and paid on the spot. Collecting the keys later I was asked again for my card details. A bit puzzling but none the less, I obliged and went to have a look around. It was cold and filthy, so I cleaned up a bit and put some heating on. We had a lovely afternoon and supper, at which point my son and his girlfriend headed thru the snow back to the cottage. Having travelled some way they obviously wanted a shower or a romantic bath. The water was freezing and there was no answer on the number I had used earlier. The next day, when we handed back the key, a young man was apologetic but said he couldn't do anything. He would talk to the manager and he was sure a small refund would be offered. I was unhappy that my son had his night ruined but that was fair enough. The manageress did phone but said, basically, tough. I'll give you a voucher for £20 off your next visit. Then I find out she has charged me double what she quoted! So I paid £100 for a cottage that had no facilities, was filthy and freezing. When I could have stayed in the hotel next door for £65 bed and breakfast! And the managements attitude was tough! Make your own mind up but I certainly think this is a company that want to take advantage of people and not offer anything if they don't have to. Should be ashamed of themselves. I am less than pleased. Under normal circumstances I would have stayed again as the cottage was a good size for £50 a night, but not £100!

Large spacious property, excellent value. In a beautiful location.
