A truly warm welcome and great stay
Five of us rented the cottage for a long weekend of walking and sightseeing and it was perfect. Great location, very close to the centre of Bakewell (and thus convenient for busses to Chatsworth etc). A very warm welcome, which included chocolates, bread, eggs, milk and staples, which was even more welcome as we arrived late on Friday in a complete downpour and made it possible to have a light supper without heading out in to the dark wet night. We enjoyed sitting by the fire and even managed one of the (many) lovely boxed sets provided. The kitchen is well appointed and laid out- five of us moved around happily cooking together. The spacious boot room with dryer was great after long wet hikes. The bedrooms are very tastefully decorated (soft Farrow and Ball colours) with nice accessories, very comfortable beds and warm duvets. Lots of hot water in the spacious shower and roll top bath suited all preferences. (NB: on children below: the staircase between floors is quite steep, so young children would need supervision.)
