Perfect Location
Just returned from 4 nights at Bridge View...what a wonderful location. Travelling with 2 dogs, we always look for places that have plenty of walks nearby. Carsington Water, Dovedale, Ilam Park, Tissington Trail are just a few to mention that are all within a ten minute drive. There are also fields directly opposite the house that have public footpaths running through them if the dog needs an early morning run around. We also need a garden that's enclosed for the dogs...so many properties advertise this but many, on arrival, have escape holes! The garden at Bridge View is totally secure and enclosed which provides huge peace of mind. The garden is much larger than the photos show and is lovely, just a shame there's no outside seating to speak of, save for one small bench that seats 2 people. The house itself is "rustic"...the furniture, appliances and linens are a little dated and could do with some TLC or replacing but that said, it does have pretty much everything you'd need. The kitchen has plenty of pots/pans, crockery, utensils and there was a lovely little welcome tray of cereals, milk, porridge and biscuits - a nice little touch. We did have to contact the owner as we couldn't get the oven to work. She responded immediately and had someone to come and assist within 15 mins (can't ask for more than that!). There is an "information folder" but this was hidden away in a cupboard and we didn't come across it for a couple of days - maybe leaving this on view might be helpful. The property has Sky TV which was an added bonus as we were only expecting Freeview. WiFi was good and needed if you need to make any calls as we had zero phone signal which isn't mentioned in the property details. Overall, the garden and location are the main draw of this property and we did feel very settled and at home. If you have kids or dogs or you like the outdoors, then you'd be hard pushed to find better.
