Perfect accommodation for couple visiting son
I know this is a bit dated to pre-COVID, but we did want to add our support for those wanting to rent a perfect cottage in Beaminster. We stayed at Fiddlesticks Cottage for 5 days in May 2019, while visiting our son who was studying at nearby Hooke Park. This cottage had all the amenities we needed, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a nice sitting room with a fireplace, a lovely kitchen and dining area, an attached laundry, and a nice little outdoor stone lined seating area with a picnic stable and metal table and chairs. There is a parking spot, but you must leave a 3 feet strip beside your car so the owner of the cottage in front can access her gate, which means you'd have to be parking a very small and narrow car. Our rental vehicle was a small SUV but too big for the parking spot. When we arrived we parked on the street opposite the cottage. We also found ourselves chatting with the neighbours in front and across from the cottage, and the lady who lives opposite told us there would always be a spot available for us wen we returned to the cottage, and she was correct. I do not know if she arranged it, or if we were just lucky but there was always a spot. You obviously will have to purchase your own supplies including toiletries, but the only thing we were surprised to have to buy was that there were few spices even pepper and salt. I think whatever the previous renters left was there but nothing else. There were laundry capsules for a few loads and a number of books and travel information for the area. One night for some reason we could not unlock the door (it turned out we were using the wrong keys), but I was impressed that a quick call resulted in the caretaker arriving in less than 10 minutes and he was very understanding. We loved the cottage, enjoyed the neighbours and the walks each evening around the neighbourhood, and everything you need can be purchased locally from the coop, green grocer, butcher, baker etc. We highly recommend Fiddlesticks Cottage and Beaminster for a visit and stay.

Fabulous holiday accomodation
We had a lovely stay at fiddlesticks cottage. The cottage is cosy, warm and above all had a comfortable bed! It is a great location with delightful gift shops, pubs and a convenience store just round the corner. Despite the conveniences being on hand it is located on a quiet road in the midst of the community. The parking space provided will only accommodate a small car but we were able to find spaces in the street. There is a charming l circular walk from the cottage which skirts a deer park and has mixed terrain!
