STUNNING HOLIDAY HOME !!
We booked this through Sykes cottages as three families (6 adults, 6 teens) and were immediately amazed at the size and beauty of the Farm. There was plenty of room to socialise inside as a group in the large open plan kitchen/living area and then outside around the fantastic firepit which we all enjoyed toasting marshmallows on. There was also a 2nd really fabulous covered over seating area with a heat lamp for cooler evenings. The pictures really do not do this house justice at all. It is very beautifully decorated whilst been comfortable and homely. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were roomy and we all felt that we had plenty of space for when you needed 'quiet time'. The surrounding areas are beautiful and scenic and we enjoyed lovely walks across fields to one of the local pubs The Spotted Cow. The owners were extremely accommodating and left us little treats which was a lovely surprise. They were very helpful with the few little queries we had. They really had thought of everything ... thankyou for a fabulous holiday and some wonderful memories !!

Stunning Family Retreat
We are a family of four, and we wanted a true ?hideaway? (and felt we could use some luxury!) when circumstances beyond our control meant we had to vacate our home for a short while recently. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt absolutely compelled to share how amazing this place is. The words ?exquisite? and ?luxurious? are banded about a lot these days, but just from walking through the original farmhouse door into the huge kitchen, I was blown away, and I felt the stress of the past few weeks begin to lift. It's rare to find original features (the farmhouse is grade 2 listed) and modern design mixed well - but Wildersley Farm seems to do this effortlessly. The whole downstairs is open plan and ?flows?...yet each area has an identity and uniqueness to it; from the quirky and cosy ?bar? to the stunning, high spec kitchen. The original stonework is exposed throughout, which just gives a warm feel to the place. Everywhere you look, there is something beautiful to marvel at; decor, design or simply the beauty of the house. It's hard to know where to start really with the details...but let's do so in that Kitchen. All appliances are of a very high quality. I love to cook, and the cupboards housed everything I needed; all spotlessly clean and organised well. Marble worktops, heated floor, top of the range double oven...a dream kitchen! The dining table (as with many items of furniture throughout Wildersley Farm) was clearly bespoke, a vast of beautiful oak surrounded by very comfortable velvet chairs. The children loved to cosy up and chill out on the kitchen's sofas, especially when my Husband had the log burner going (which sits within a stunning and absolutely massive original stone fireplace!). Screen time rapidly reduced too...just to all be in the same room chatting was so novel for us; Wildersley is a genuine ?retreat? that just seemed to bring us together. The lounge and snug are chic yet very comfortable, and my Daughter was very pleased to find lots of games in the cupboards (Dinosaur Operation being her fave!). As well as toasting marshmallows on the fire pit, we loved family time in the hot-tub; and once again everything is evidently thought through for guests; for example a second path leads directly from the hot tub to the snug and then through to a downstairs shower room. Fluffy robes, towels and toiletries were all provided. The views of Derbyshire Countryside from the hot tub are out of this world. Across two upper floors are 6 individual bedrooms; we didn?t know which to choose from as they are totally stunning and each unique. My Daughter felt ?like Rapunzel? in her blush pink hideaway on the top floor - complete with it's own bath in the room! And my Husband and I loved the opulence of the ?copper bath? room - which really does have to be seen to be believed. Just stunning...a real escape from reality. Every en-suite and bathroom has a theme, a feel to it; it's just so well thought out and stunningly beautiful. As I said, I promised myself I?d write this review as the owners have just absolutely got it spot on. Every single room. Every day we would make wishes in the grounds? wishing well, and have a walk to a little woods we discovered very close by. The local area is beautiful. Walking back to light a fire in the wood burning stove and sit around the table as a family will stay with me always. As I said, circumstance meant that we had to find somewhere to stay, however, we were extremely lucky to have found this place, and I would recommend that anyone who has the opportunity to book Wildersley absolutely do so.
