Quirky house sittings on its own island in the Menai Straits. Amazing views from every window. WiFi, woodburning stove, washing machine.

Amenities are a short walk away in Menai Bridge.

Ynys Castell is one of the most unique and exciting holiday houses, on its own island off Anglesey. The adventure begins the moment you drive onto the causeway! The house has magnificent panoramic views of the Menai Strait, where you might see cormorants perching on some of the rocks, seals and so much more. With the backdrop of the mountains of Snowdonia in addition to the historic Menai Suspension Bridge, Bangor Pier and The Great Orme, it will be hard to know where to direct your gaze.

"Ynys Castell (Castle Island) a unique and exciting holiday experience that starts as soon as you drive onto the causeway!" A lovely holiday house, sleeping 13, and set in mature gardens with lawned areas, vantage seating spots, meandering paths and steps down to the water's edge and its very own slipway. Ideal for families and large groups this is a comfortable house with space generously provided so that everyone can be together or find a quiet space to be alone. Great if you're looking for a unique house to celebrate that upcoming special occasion.

You may be on an island, but when the tide is right you can walk into Menai Bridge within minutes to sample the delights of independant little shops and excellent restaurants.

A truly gorgeous holiday!
We're not long home from a gorgeous family holiday here! All 4 generations enjoyed thoroughly with ages ranging from 10 months to 81 years! The house is extremely spacious with so many nooks and crannies to just relax. The house is full of character but with modern additions also. The WiFi is great for keeping all entertained when wanting to chill and the huge fridge freezer (oh and wine chiller!!) are welcomed features! One of our favourite parts were the swinging seat in the garden, we all loved it and I think it was rarely vacant throughout as someone was always having a rest on it. The island is beautiful and well kept. It's so lovely having your own space completely ?away from the world?. We were lucky with the weather and we didn?t leave the island often as we just wanted to explore and relax. The only thing we?d have liked would be a tumble dryer as with the humid weather nothing was drying well either outside on the line or inside on the airers. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice ?escape? with extended family or friends and we all want to come back here again! It was amazing and felt a home from a home! We're all starting to save for our next Ynys Castell break already!

The unique island location means that there are areas of cliff face and of course, the sea within close proximity to the cottage and guests with young children need to be mindful of this
The tide stays on the causeway for up to 4 hours, then off for up to 8 hours so arrival and departure times will vary to accommodate the tide
