Glamorgan Self Catering cottage, Oaktree Farm, Wenvoe, sleeps 6

Not suitable for rental
It is with regret that we will never stay at this property again. The location is great, and everything on paper (and online) seems fine...but then you will likely arrive and realise that this is not a good place to stay. Sorry. While the owner let us in an hour early, it was clear that the house needed a deep clean, and it was (is?) just not fit for purpose as a holiday home. Thin, office-type blinds rather than curtains in every bedroom, the kitchen was filthy, and you can expect to receive an informal set of instructions about what you should and should not do in the property when you arrive, including not to use the open fireplace (boasted about in the property description, but which the owner has since said broke the day before we arrived). There was insufficient crockery for a couple, never mind a family, no wheelie bins (you had to text the owner for him to collect them), a kitchen bin without a lid (in the height of Summer), and the beautiful views that are promised on the website are in fact of a dilapidated caravan full of garden rubbish and a garden that is in desperate need of some TLC. This house has real potential, but it is simply not fit to be rented out for now, or for the foreseeable future. The photos say it all.
