Dan and Lisa would like to welcome you to The Farmers Arms St Merryn Nr Padstow. We took over the tenancy on the 27th October 2014 and with our new head chef Rob Edwards are creating a fresh identity for the Farmers whilst maintaining the traditional values of a long standing inn in the heart of the village. We are very proud of our cask conditioned ales and home cooked food.
As a flagship site of the St Austell Brewery tenanted estate we strive for consistency with our quality of beers. We also use award winning locally sourced meats and other ingredients to create our own style of home cooked favourites dishes. We have already gained a reputation for one of the best steak and ale pies.
We also have diners coming from all over Cornwall to enjoy our Sunday carvery with our famous Farmers stock pot gravy. The Farmers Arms is situated right in the heart of St Merryn village on the main Padstow to Newquay bus route. We are within easy distances of Padstow Trevose Golf course the Seven Bays area of North Cornwall including Mother Iveys bay (offshore lifeboat station) Harlyn Bay (surf beach and family bay) Constantine (surf beach) Booby's Bay (surf beach and shipwreck) Treyarnon Bay (family bay) Bedruthan Steps Trevose Headland the Southwest coastal path Prideaux Place The Camel Estuary The Alps fishery Camel Valley Vinyards and many other places.
The Farmers Arms building is steeped in history. Once a run of cottages in the heart of the village it has been operating as an inn for over 150 years. With a traditional flagstone floor and farmers restaurant you can really feel the history.
There is also an old well situated in the public bar area and a few quirky aspects can be pointed out around the building including "Number Ten" and the Blind man's seat.
