Accommodation Description:

A warm welcome awaits you at The Waggon Inn. With free Wi-Fi onsite bar and restaurant free parking available and ideal location its the perfect place to stay for leisure and business travellers alike.

A delightful 19th Century coaching inn with a comfortable lounge bar and dining area. The inn has recently undergone a huge refurbishment to bring the building back to life. Local produce and a lovely setting are the hallmarks of The Waggon Inn; with all our food sourced locally.

The Waggon Inn was established in 1882 by Joseph Bradbury and has a long tradition of providing hospitality and accommodation to local residents and visitors to Uppermill. In 'Saddleworth Pubs and their licencees 1674-1998' Rob Magee notes that about 1882 Joseph Bradbury a Stone Merchant became beer retailer at the Waggon Inn High Street Uppermill. By 1887 Joseph's widow Mary was licensee and owner.

When Mary died in 1900 her son Frank took over as licensee and stayed on until 1925 when the family sold the Waggon to Robinson's Brewery Stockport. There are four rooms available. All bedrooms are newly renovated to a very high standard.

Our twin room has a walk in wet room and our doubles a power shower and bath All.bedrooms are equipped with large flat screen TV's hair dryer Dolce Gusto coffee machine with tea and coffee making facilities. TO NOTE Should you wish to dine in our restaurant please make separate arrangements by contacting us directly as our restaurant is often fully booked and therefore cannot guarantee residents a table We are a very busy and lively pub and restaurant and therefore not ideally suited for children Due to the nature of our business and our location on the High Street in a bustling village noise may travel into our rooms which are situated above our bar and restaurant
