The Black Horse is a family-run hotel centrally situated in Queen Street in Newton Stewart, the Gateway to the Galloway Hills. There are many great reasons for visiting The Black Horse Hotel in Newton Stewart, South -West Scotland - a very warm Gaelic welcome comfortable accommodation and good food. Special rates apply for longer stays commercial customers and large groups.

We also offer special deals for workmen who are planning a Monday to Thursday stay.

Newton Stewart and the surrounding area is rich in history and archaeology and has often been described as 'Scotland in miniature' with its rugged mountains rolling countryside coastal cliffs and secluded beaches and bays. It's the perfect base from which to explore this wonderful area. The town is on the edge of the magnificent Galloway Forest Park with the world-famous 7Stanes mountain biking trails and there's plenty of excellent fishing on the rivers Cree (which runs through Newton Stewart) the Bladnoch and the Tarff rivers.There are also 32 golf courses in Galloway.

We are situated just a few minutes' walk from the Town Centre - ideal for weary shoppers needing a break - and just off the A75 Gretna to Stranraer road making it perfect for travellers to and from the ferry port at Stranraer. We have both on-road and off-road parking facilities.

Or why not simply treat yourself to a meal out? The Black Horse Hotel Can Also Offer A Private Function Room For Special Occasions Such As Birthdays Anniversaries Weddings Or Other Occasions. We Also Cater For Children's Parties. The Black Horse Hotel has a private meeting room available for groups or organisations.
