Glenmore Country House has been in the Oatts family for over 160 years and is situated in a secluded and breathtakingly beautiful part of the west coast of Scotland. Originally constructed at the beginning of the 1800's it was subsequently enlarged with a new wing in 1935 and it features many art deco features and wonderful pitch pine panelling and beautiful oak flooring. Glenmore House is 16 miles south of Oban in the village of Kilmelford.

The private avenue leading up to Glenmore is lined by a wide selection of trees giving the feeling of being completely away from it all before even arriving! Set in extensive grounds including an organic walled garden with stunning views of Loch Melfot the house has many interesting architectural features. Throughout natural wood is retained as a feature. The entrance hall is panelled with red pine and carved figures on the oak banisters leading the way to our spacious and comfortable guest rooms.
The rooms are spacious and elegant individually decorated and furnished with antiques and pictures. The accommodation comprises a 2 bedroom suite with sitting room and bathroom. It is ideal for families or couples who would like a little more space! We also have a spacious Yellow double/twin room with private bathroom.
You can enjoy the views of Loch Melfort from both double bedrooms. Guests can relax in the Drawing room at their leisure. This is also the room where we serve breakfast looking out over the views of Loch Melfort and the garden.
Guests are welcome to relax on the terrace or explore the romantic walled garden where Melissa grows fruit and vegetables in abundance. Ancient apple trees gooseberry and blackcurrants bushes provide the stewed fruit for breakfast. Glenmore is ideal for a longer stay for you to explore this wonderful part of Scotland.
Glenmore House is 16 miles south of Oban just outside the village of Kilmelford.
