Our charming 18th Century Guest House situated in the 'old town' area of the rural market town of Rhayader with the River Wye just 3-4 minutes walk away. Rhayader is known as the gateway to the 'Lakeland of Wales'. We provide the perfect base from which to explore this magnificent area with its mountains valleys woods and lakes.
The Horseshoe in Rhayader is a 200 year-old spacious Welsh stone building with lots of character and charm the lounges are furnished with deep comfortable chairs and are heavily beamed with a log fire for chilly evenings adding to the atmosphere. The Horseshoe has been recently refurbished to a high standard offering the very best in modern facilities whilst retaining the original charm of this lovely old building. The conservatory with it's walled garden are inviting and relaxing after a day on the move.
The bedrooms double and twin En Suite or single standard are decorated with flair in the 'countryside' style all rooms have colour T.V complimentary tea coffee biscuits and modern central heating. Parking is no problem we have our own large secure car park and secure cycle and motorbike storage All dogs are welcome if we are notified at the time of booking

The Horseshoe has a 20 seat dining room that is fully licensed. All produce for meals is locally sourced on the day and homemade. We offer three courses for ?16. There is an extensive wine menu available with wines carefully chosen from around the world. On summer days you are welcome to dine in our pretty walled garden and after dinner you may retire either to the modern conservatory or the traditional lounge with its log fire and wooden beams.
