Wow, what a place!
Such a beautiful well kept cottage in a rural lakeside location. The peace and tranquillity of this little gem of a holiday cottage is to truly behold. We arrived at the end of a stressful year to spend a quiet Christmas and we got just what we wanted. The location is ideal dog walking country and our two border collies, loved exploring the area. The circular walk around the lake is a must but not for the faint hearted! The sound of the cacophony of owls 'hooting' to each other at night will stay with me as one of my all-time favourite sounds! The unpoluted night sky without any illumination from below, allowed us to admire the stars in the sky, truly amazing - the best in Europe. We could go on, but it really is worth your while, finding this all out for yourself. We will most certainly be going back for further visits!!

An Exmoor Gem
If your idea of a break on Exmoor envisages a peaceful base in a comfortable cosy character cottage surrounded by pastoral countryside with direct access to footpaths leading to picturesque views and dark night skies free of light pollution (cloud permitting), this cottage is for you. Extra features like its lakeside location with a nearby water sports and activity centres are just icing on the cake. Sarah and Alan host this property which is one half of a traditional farmhouse (they live in the other bit) dating back a few centuries but stylishly modernised. Situated a mile down a drive from the nearest unclassified road, the farmhouse initially seems isolated but many Exmoor attractions are actually reasonably accessible by car. The standard of accommodation is high with a well equipped modern fitted kitchen, stunning bathroom, and a wood burner in the living room. Satellite TV and a good internet signal are available for those that want them, and the absence of a mobile phone signal means you can choose to holiday here completely undisturbed. A perfect place to enjoy nature's tranquility and the beauty of Exmoor. I'd give it six stars if TripAdvisor allowed! Comments based on a week's stay in October/November 2016

A lovely secluded cottage a moments walk to the lovely lake with stunning views. The cottage was fitted to a very high standard and was large enough for a family of four and two dogs. There were lots of lovely walks for the dogs and a dog friendly beach in Dunster is only 20mins drive down the road. I cannot recommend this cottage more highly, it was a lovely quiet relaxing week spent in beautiful surroundings, 10 out of 10.

Absolutely Magnificent Location in Immaculate charming Cottage run by delightful friendly people
This place is a total Gem the cottage has everything you would need and More. Its both traditional and cosy and modern and practical. It was spotless too, better than a 5star hotel. Really enjoyed the Woodburner adding a sense of ambience felt the history of the place and it had good vibes. The location is so peaceful and tranquil and great for total relaxation and fresh air. Sarah and Alan are approachable helpful and friendly nothing is to much trouble. If you are thinking about staying here and like the outdoors plus peace and quiet stop thinking and book it asap. I have already given word of mouth reviews to everyone I know and anyone else who will listen. Sarah and Alan keep up the great work will see you again soon as will someone who knows me. Thanks Mike, Becks Eden & Archie
