Lovely cottage overlooking the river.
Stayed at this cottage late April with 2 friends. The accommodation is built over three floors. It is in a row of cottages. It's position is high up overlooking thr river far below. On the 1st floor is a large entrance hall, with a storage garage, also a shower room . The steep stairs lead up to the sitting room/ dinning room. The well equipped kitchen was at the back of the house off a hall with the back door leading out onto a small sitting area, this area was communal, not enclosed. Stairs led to the 3rd floor. There are two bedrooms here and one bathroom. The twin bedroom was a little cramped for two adults, with very little space to move around, but was adequate for a short stay. We had to travel with two cars and there was never a problem with access or parking. It was in a lovely position and a very steep climb in front of the cottage led down to the river, also there was a bin area there used by guests / residents for rubbish. You did need a car here to get about and it is not for people with mobility issues or toddlers because of the many levels. The area had lots of lovely restaurants and cafes and easy travelling to some lovely small towns and villages. The owner was very helpful and during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Symonds Yat.

The location was perfect - right in the centre of beautiful walks, good pubs and restaurants and the hand pulled ferry across the river. It was only a short distance to nearby beauty spots such as the Forest of Dean, Tintern and Ross-on-Wye. The cottage was beautiful and had everything we wanted.
