The guest house lies within an easy 10-minute walk of the famous Lake Windermere in the village of Bowness and an 8-minute walk from Windermere village. There are several excellent viewpoints, the lakeshore and tumbling waterfalls within easy walking distance as well as numerous resturants, cafes, bars and public houses

Glencree makes the ideal base for enjoying the fabulous Lake District whether you want to just relax and take in the spectacle, explore the fells, take a boat ride, visit museums and country houses or enjoy a panoramic tour with someone else doing the driving.There is Windermere Golf course nearby, bicycle hire available, forest parks with nature trails and sculptures, horse riding, fishing and all the water sportsBeing a family-run concern, we are able to offer a personal service to make sure that your stay with us is comfortable and enjoyable as possible.The ground floor has a large guest lounge with colour flat screen TV, a newly-built, walk-through dining room and a ensuite double bedroom for guests who have difficulty with stairs

Directions:
From Windermere station turn left out of the train station and walk to the end of the road. Turn left again following road through the village of Windermere heading down the road towards Bowness. After 5 minutes walk Glencree is the first property on the right-hand side after the woodland and opposite the Catholic church. From M6 jct 36 take A590 and the A591 towards Windermere. Turn off A591 following sign for Windermere town centre in direction of lake. We are 0.5 miles from Windermere town centre on main road on right-hand side opposite Catholic church.
