The stones and slatt of Peroth look'd so red that at my entrance into the town thought its buildings were all of brick, but after found it to be the collour of the stone which I saw in the Quarrys look very red, their slatt is the same which cover their houses; its a pretty large town a good market for cloth that they spinn in the country, hempe and also woollen, its a great market for all sorts of cattle meate corne etc. Celia Fiennes
