Get away from everything, including the TV, come to the Lake district and stay at The Gate House.
We are an ideal venue for Hillwalkers and Mountain Bikers,Located in the Western Lake District, Gate House was originally built in 1896 as a country retreat for Lord Rea and is currently home to Outward Bound Professional.
Gate House is famous for its dining room with wonderful ornate ceilings.
Next door are the billiard room with Minstrel's gallery and bar, also the library with log fires and views across the fells.
A haven of peace and tranquillity can be enjoyed in any of the numerous comfortable lounges.
Outside the private grounds provide walkways to the Japanese Garden with its cascading pools and stunning azaleas and rhododendrons.
The circular walk of the tarn gives wonderful views of Gate House itself.
There is easy access onto the fells, with low level walks into neighbouring valleys as well as beautiful lakes all in close proximity to Gate House.
