Off the A386 Tavistock to Okehampton road lies the village of Peter Tavy. Rose Cottage a slate hung cottage is on the edge of the village and sits in a pretty cottage garden full of bird song and flowers. Breakfast is served on a Georgian dining room table in the cosy dining room either full English or continental or a combination of both.

After breakfast visit the beautiful 11th century church of Saint Peter then walk on up to the moor and enjoy the high sky and gentle rolling hills of wonderful Dartmoor with all its majestic Tors and deep hidden valleys. When you have feasted your eyes on the wild ponies black-face sheep and all colours of moorland flowers heather and bracken and your lungs are full of fresh pure air retrace your steps and just by the church you will find the 15th century Peter Tavy Inn. There is of course much to choose from if you are looking for a stay on Dartmoor.
