Edgemoor Country House Hotel, Bovey Tracey

Accommodation Description:
Situated right on the National Park Boundary of Dartmoor, this beautiful Victorian country house hotel, built in the 1870s, was once Bovey Tracey Grammar School.Boasting an award-winning restaurant and fireside bistro which have won several rosettes, ribbons and other UK food awards, and an extensive and creative wine list (featuring over 150 selections), this privately owned country house is less than three miles from the main A38.Ideal stopover for Exeter Airport

Set in its own grounds of two and a half acres, it is an idyllic and tranquil centre from which to base your stay in Devon being only minutes away from the many famous Tors and villages within Dartmoor and easy driving to the major cities and coast-(Exeter 12 miles, Plymouth 25 miles and the coast 10 miles). The house, which was purchased in September 2007 by its present owners, has undergone substantial tasteful renovation, featuring a mixture of both traditional and contemporary style interiors which complement the historic Victorian architecture and enhance the warm friendly welcome and attention to detail received from our enthusiastic staff. All of the sixteen en-suite spacious rooms are non-smoking, and the Woodland Wing rooms are ideal for guests wishing to bring their dogs

The hotel welcomes children over 14 years old. There are several excellent golf courses within easy driving distance and The Edgemoor is the ideal centre for walking breaks as well as many outdoor country sporting pursuits such as horse riding (Exeter and Newton Abbot), falconry, mountain biking and shooting. Quotes from Paddy Burt of The Telegraph

Ivy Covered Edgemoor Country House is one of those romantic hideaway hotels approached via a drive lined with immaculate lawns and gardens. This may be a small hotel but is run along the lines of a grand one. Theres a sense of occasion about dining here, although its not the least bit pretentious

All major credit cards accepted except American Express.
