Edendale House is situated at the northern end of Southport, in a leafy residential area of wide streets offering peace and tranquillity where all the houses were built in the Victorian era. There is a large car park and attractive gardens with a large fish pond and patio area where you can sit or enjoy a drink on a warm summers evening.Each room has a colour TV, telephone with internet compatible telephone line, radio alarm, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities. Each room is individually decorated and has its own thermostatically controlled central heating radiator.

Edendale House is only a short walk from most of Southports main visitor attractions.Therefore, business or pleasure you can be assured of a warm welcome at the Edendale Hotel where we are proud to offer you warm friendly service in a relaxed comfortable atmosphere.

Murder of King Edward

The young King Edward, who had only been on the throne for 3 years, was murdered at Corfe Castle, Dorset, probably with the connivance of his step-mother. Edward, later canonized, was succeeded by his half-brother Ethelred, known to history by the unfortunate soubriquet, Ethelred the Unready

This king was captured at the Battle of Lincoln on 2 February, 1141
