Turn the corner from Ivydene into town and you're strolling down Lord Street, deservedly known as one of the most handsome shopping streets in Europe, with its colonnades and arcades, select boutiques and department stores – and plenty of space to pause and watch the world go by enjoying the delights of the café society.
In Southport, there's something in the atmosphere that encourages you to believe that you're always on holiday. And why not – there are golf courses galore, a marine lake, nightlife to suit just about every taste and of course a beach that stretches to infinity.
