The Captains Lodge, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea

Accommodation Description:
Welcome to The Captains Lodge, we offer quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation in Northumberland. Kathy, your host will always guarantee a warm and friendly welcome. The Captain's Lodge is renowned for warm hospitality and traditional home cooked meals using only the best fresh local produce

What better place to begin to explore Newbiggin than from this magnificent "Church in the Sea", surrounded on three sides by the ocean dominating the most easterly part of the village and a familiar landmark for fishermen and sailors. The Church was estimated to have been built almost 800 years ago. Today the church still maintains vigil over the bay with the waves dashing againt the point only yards from the church door

Walking away from the Church you will come to the new childrens playground that was part of the reclamation projects staged in the UK when ?10 million was spent with the new breakwater and the first ever permanent offshore sculpures comprising of two five metre tall bronze figures a man and a woman. Newbiggin by the Sea is a great place to base yourself whilst discovering the delights of Northumberland and the Borders. The Captain's Lodge enjoys a glorious position with superb views over Newbiggin Bay and Church Point

We have a family en-suite bedroom with four poster bed and a single bed. The double room also has a four poster bed draped with white satin. The single room with a separate private shower room, available for your exclusive use

All rooms have TV and free wireless Internet access, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers. With an open fire together with traditional home cooked meals it is an ideal location to relax and unwind. In the summer months enjoy the views from a sun-lit patio, with steps leading down to the promenade

We are located near Wansbeck General Hospital and at the start of the Coast to Coast Walk. We are also ideally situated for Alnwick, Morpeth, Bamburgh, Newcastle, Cramlington, The Metro Centre and the whole of Northumberland. You will discover a legacy of castles, historic houses, abbeys and priories and an abundance of visitor attractions inspired by our rich cultural heritage
