A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at the Four Wynds. Built in the mid-19th Century as three miner’s cottages, we are ideally situated just outside Greenhead Village on the Hadrian’s Wall Trail, the Pennine Way, National Cycle Route 72 and just 45 minutes drive from Newcastle. We offer comfortable accommodation and delicious breakfasts using Organic, Fairtrade and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible

Packed lunches are available. All our bedrooms have en suite bathrooms (with showers). There is a guest lounge with television (satellite channels available), games and a well stocked book case

For families we can offer cots, changing facilities and a variety of toys. For walkers and cyclists we have washing and drying facilities, secure bike storage and an outside wash area. We have a wide range of information and a host of ideas for local attractions and days out

There are itineraries to suit everybody, from families with young children to those wanting challenging hikes or rides across the picturesque and historic countryside which surrounds this, the true heart of Hadrian’s Wall country. There are many circular walks within easy access of here. We are willing to offer you a lift to and from the various local pubs and restaurants offering a wide range of evening meals

You will find that our location by the Northumbrian and Cumbrian borders suits all those who are either exploring the historic and geological wonders of this amazing countryside, visiting family or friends locally or passing through on the way to Scotland. At the suggestion of some of our guests, we have started our Roam and Stay programme. This allows you to use Four Wynds as your base for two or more days and we will give you a lift to your destination or to an appropriate transport link
