Combe House Hotel, Holford

Accommodation Description:
A lovely Country House Hotel, within easy reach of Minehead and Taunton. Located just off A39 in the stunning Quantock Hills. Combe House is a stunning 18 bedroom country retreat located in the heart of the Quantock Hills, Englands first Area of Outstanding Beauty

Head chef and his brigade create mouth-watering dishes using the freshest ingredients sourced locally and their award winning restaurant is open daily for lunches, afternoon teas and dinners. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation and a variety of onsite facilities including a heated indoor pool, sauna and tennis court. There are also great walks and magnificent countryside right on the hotels doorstep

Each of the bedrooms has its own individual style, elegantly decorated to retain the character of the building while being furnished to the highest standard. All rooms have en suite bath andor shower rooms. Superior rooms have good views over the gardens, are larger with king or superking sized beds and have more luxurious toiletries and Bumblebee bathrobes

The restaurant, recently refitted with specially commissioned handmade Cornish oak and walnut furniture, is where breakfast and dinner are served. The menu draws on recipes from all over the world, gleaned by the head chef Laurence Pratt from 15 years service in the Royal Navy, where the VIPs he served included royalty and Heads of State. Though the menu has an international flavour, most of the ingredients are from Somerset

Meat and game come from local farms and shoots, fish from Brixham trawlers, shellfish from the Bristol Channel and many of our vegetables from the organic kitchen garden within the grounds. Light lunches are served in the bar as well as on the lawn in fine weather, and there is a comfortable lounge for morning and after dinner drinks. The hotels heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, hard tennis court, croquet lawn and well stocked library provide plenty to do without leaving the grounds, but if guests just want to relax, this is the perfect place, easily reached yet incredibly peaceful

Directions:
To find us take the Bridgwater exit (23 or 24) from the M5 or enter Bridgwater from the A38 or A39 drive through Bridgwater following signs for Minehead A39. Holford is then about 11 miles past Bridgwater on the A39 after the village of Nether Stowey. When you reach Holford turn left into the village. Keep driving through the village turning left at the ?T? junction and bearing left at the next fork to Holford Combe. Then drive straight on up the Combe and the hotel is at the end of the road. There are signs both on the A39 and as you drive through the village.
