The beach below consists of areas of soft sand and flint pebbles backed by scenic cliffs which are accessed by wooded walkways and a cliff lift

A fun filled stay is guaranteed at the Melbourne Ardenlea. The hotel offers a large indoor swimming pool sauna and Jacuzzi for guests to enjoy free of charge. The lounges and bar are comfortably furnished and are the ideal place to relax after a busy day

Evening entertainment is provided most nights offering a varied programme of different acts. The bedrooms are spacious many recently refurbished with new bathrooms and soft fabrics. A number of rooms enjoy partial sea views and each room is furnished to a high standard with every amenity needed for a relaxed and comfortable stay

The restaurant serves quality food in a relaxed informal atmosphere. The very reasonably priced menu changes every day and the homemade desserts are Irresistible. Special dietary requirements can be catered for if requested in advance

Directions:
From Ryde take A3055 via Sandown to Shanklin. In Shanklin follow signs A3055 Ventnor (cliff lift and beach). The hotel is approximately 450m on the right.By Rail - Station Shanklin Isle of Wight. You can purchase a through ticket to include Wightlink passenger ferry which departs Portsmouth Harbour Station. The ferry connects with the Island line railway to take you to Shanklin Station. The hotel is 5 minutes by taxi from here.
