The spacious house and garden enjoy panoramic views over farmland and the nature conservation area towards Loch Lomond and the beautiful surrounding mountains. Thirty minutes from Glasgow Airport, the Old School House is the perfect place to stay in the Loch lomond area

This is a great base from which to enjoy the ample walking, cycling or golfing in the area or to explore the National Park and all it has to offer. Located only a few miles away from Ben Lomond, Scotlands most southerly Munro, you can scale its heights or just walk a segment of The West Highland Way, Scotlands most popular long-distance walk. There are many lochside or forestry walks for those wanting a less strenuous challenge

It is also in easy driving distance to Glasgow, Edinboro or Stirling for those looking to explore some of Scotlands towns or cities. Why not visit a local distillery or take a trip on Loch Lomond or nearby Loch Katrine. There are many choices for eating out nearby and the owners will gladly help you taylor make your ideal itinery

Directions:
By Air -You can reach us within around 30 minutes from Glasgow Airport or an hour from Prestwick Airport. (From Prestwick take the A77 (M) towards Glasgow and head for M8 towards Greenock Glasgow Airport Erskine Bridge). From M8 follow the directions detailed below under By Road'. By Rail -The nearest railway station is Balloch which has a service half-hourly from 6 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. from Glasgow Queen Street Station Mon-Sat or from Glasgow Central Station 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays. By Bus -McColls Coaches operate an hourly service (number 309) 9 a.m. to 2 p.m and then less frequently until 10 p.m. (check timetable at Balloch Bus Station). Ask driver to be dropped off at The Old School House beyond Gartocharn. For all public transport timetable enquiries call 0870 608 2608 from 07.00 to 22.00 seven days a week By Road -Travelling along the M8 signposted Greenock Erskine Bridge exit at junction 30 joining M898 signposted Erskine Bridge. Travel across toll bridge and then branch left onto Great Western Road A82 signposted Crianlarich. Continue up here for approx. 9 miles. At Stoneymollan Roundabout turn right onto A811 signposted Stirling. Travel over two further roundabouts leaving Balloch towards Gartocharn (approx. 5 miles from Stoneymollan RA). Approx. 1 mile beyond Gartocharn you will find The Old School House on the left hand side.
