Description:
From: £50.00 Whatever the season, the County Hotel is here to welcome you. An elegant Grade B Georgian House offering fine views over the historical Royal Burgh of Banff, the Bay and the surrounding countryside of the River Deveron estuary. We offer individually furnished bedrooms, a lounge bar and a restaurant Designed by George Robertson about 1778 for the Garden-Robinson family (noted merchants and long-standing Provosts of the Burgh) the building contains many features copied from nearby Duff House, William Adam's baroque masterpiece and stately home of the Earls and Dukes of Fife. A Grecian styled porch way with splendid segmented fanlight was added about 1830. Since conversion to a small prestigious hotel in 1977, the bedrooms have been individually furnished and decorated with all modern-day comforts for the discerning guest Each room has its own bathroom, colour television, radio, direct dial telephone, writing facilities, electric blankets and central heating. The French Chef owned County Hotel invites you to relax in the kernal of our establishment. L'auberge, a pleasant restaurant overlooking the bay where only the best fresh local produce (game, meat, fish and vegetables) are prepared personally and served to the highest standards of French Cuisine Aperitifs and after dinner drinks are served in our comfortable Lounge Bar where you can enjoy a wide range of Scotland's famous Malt Whiskies. Our Bistro is open for snacks and light meals in typical French style. To the front of the house is a small garden with a pair of unusual weeping ash trees, whilst in the rear garden you may relax on secluded lawn and patios surrounded by flower-beds The hotel car park adjoins the grounds. The County Hotel in Banff retains very much the country-house ambiance of former days and as resident proprietors we place particular emphasis on creating a relaxing atmosphere in our home.
