The Story Behind the Image - Loch Tay, Perthshire

Perthshire is one of my favourite places in Britain, and the area around Loch Tay is my favourite area of Perthshire.

This view of the loch was taken at Kenmore, a pretty village at the eastern end of the loch. You can see the distant peak of Ben Lawers in the background, lit by early morning sunlight.

This was taken on a frosty morning in early autumn from a small beach by the shore at Kenmore.

I was staying for the week at the hamlet of Dull, near Aberfeldy. I awoke at dawn and realised that the sky was clear, so without pausing for breakfast, I hopped into my car and drove to Kenmore to catch the early light of day across the loch.
