Pecca Twin Falls, Ingleton

The Story Behind the Image - Pecca Twin Falls

One of the most popular walks in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the Waterfalls Walk near the village of Ingleton, in the south-western corner of the Dales. The Waterfalls Walk takes in (at least) four waterfalls on the River Twiss and the River Doe.

One of those waterfalls is Pecca Twin Waterfall, on the River Twiss.

What I remember most about taking this photo was how enthralled I was with the bizarre shape of the black rock on the right of the photo. It reminded me of a piece of seaweed draped over the lip of the waterfall.

I took this on a family walk, and given my track record, I rather suspect my wife and two children left me to my own devices and kept on walking up the trail, leaving me to happily snap away, then run to catch up.
