The Story Behind the Image - Thatched Cottage in Dunster, Somerset
The Somerset village of Dunster stands on the eastern border of Exmoor National Park.
Dunster has so much to offer, including a medieval Yarn Market, ancient packhorse bridge, market cross, restored water mill, and of course, historic Dunster Castle.
Aside from all those historic sites, Dunster is blessed with some amazingly picturesque thatched cottages. I found this pretty cottage whilst on my way to photograph the packhorse bridge.
I returned later when the sun was in a different position to photograph more thatched cottages on the opposite side of the lane.
