Arbuthnot Museum
Arbuthnot Museum
Head out to sea on a whaling vessel, at least in your imagination! This museum is a tribute to Peterhead's maritime history.

The museum is one of the oldest in Aberdeenshire and features models of Peterhead's historic fishing boats over the years, and exhibits covering whaling, Arctic animals, and a very large collection of historic photographs of Peterhead and the surrounding area. See collections of Inuit artefacts, and one of the largest coin collections in the north of Scotland.

Much of the museum's focus is on Peterhead's connection to the whaling industry, with photos of whaling boats, maritime artefacts and historical records that bring the rich naval heritage of the Peterhead area to light.
