Suggestions for visiting the Isle of Skye

The Britain Express family have visited the Isle of Skye on numerous occasions; its one of our favourite places in the UK. Its rather difficult to pick just a few suggestions from the many wonderful places to visit, but I'll have a go anyway!

1. Take a cruise from Elgol to Loch Coruisk, an inland loch in the heart of the Black Cuillin mountains. Here you will find a magical loch mirroring the snow-capped peaks of Scotland's most famous set of munros (peaks over 3000 feet). This is a mecca for climbers, but even if all you do is sit and enjoy the scenery, you'll have a wonderful time.

2. Walk along Alt Coir' a' Mhadaidh to the magical Fairy Pools. These crystal clear waters sit at the foot of the Black Cuillins, and the beauty of the location is utterly magnificent. Here are small waterfalls, deep, circular pools, and clear, rushing water.

3. The Fairy Glen, not to be confused with the Fairy Pools above, this otherwordly place near Uig is like the Highlands in miniature.

4. The Quiraing - This stunning landscape of peaks, pinnacles, plateaus, and twisted geographic shapes lies on the eastern slope of the Trotternish Ridge.
