Squirrel Cottage is a cosy 1 bedroom single storey cottage at the back of the courtyard. There is easy access to this cottage for those with reduced mobility. There is a gentle slope with hand rail up to the front door.

Inside Squirrel Cottage the floors are level with no steps. The shower room has a low entry shower tray for easy access, a seat in the shower cubicle and hand rails. Squirrel Cottage can also be booked with one or more of our other holiday cottages which are on the same site.

Squirrel Cottage has full central heating and is a comfortable cottage for holidays all year round, whether you want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet or whether you want to get out and about and explore the beautiful countryside and all that the picturesque Forest of Dean and Wye Valley have to offer. Yorkley village, only half a mile away, has 2 pubs, 2 general stores, a Post office, hairdressers, Doctors' surgery etc. Lydney town is 3 miles away.

Squirrel Cottage has an open plan lounge/ kitchen/ diner with a comfortable 3 seater settee, colour TV with Freeview & DVD players; well equipped kitchen with full size oven, hob, under counter fridge with freezer compartment, microwave etc. dining table with 2 chairs. The washing machines, dryer, iron & ironing board are in a communal laundry room (no charge).

There are also board games and books in the cottage. The spacious bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, dressing table, mirror and bedside cabinets. Bed linen and towels are provided and the bed is freshly made up for your arrival.

The shower room has an easy access low level shower tray and thermostatic shower. Dogs/ cats are welcome in Squirrel Cottage. There is direct access into the Forest from our grounds and with its miles of footpaths it's a dog's paradise.

In the courtyard there is a hose for washing down muddy dogs before they return into the cottage. Dogs are charged at ?25 for one, ?35 for two or ?45 for three. Cycle paths, mountain bike trails and bike hire are also nearby and we have our own secure bike shed as well as bike washing and clothes drying facilities.

Children are welcome and young children have their own enclosed play area with play train, Wendy House etc. We can provide a cot and high chair in the cottage - please reserve these when booking the cottage, if required. Older children and aduts alike enjoy ball games, picnics, barbecues etc.

There is room for a second car in a second car park a short walk away. Squirrel Cottage is within easy reach of the many attractions in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, such as Clearwell Caves, Go Ape, Dean Forest Railway, Sculpture Trail, Canoeing & Kayaking on the Wye, Cannop Cycle Trails, Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle, Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Railway etc. The Cathedral city of Gloucester is only half an hour.
