This Grade II listed cottage is located in the town of Battle and can sleep five people in two bedrooms.

44 Lower Lake is a 17th century, Grade II listed cottage located in the town of Battle, just six miles from Hastings. The cottage sleeps five people in two bedrooms, consisting of one super king-size double and one king-size double with a cot bed. Also in the cottage are a fitted kitchen with dining area and woodburning stove, a sitting room with woodburning stove and a shower room. Outside is off road parking for one car and an enclosed walled garden with furniture and BBQ. Situated in East Sussex, 44 Lower Lake is a lovely cottage to visit at any time of the year.

I rented this cottage for my parents as we live locally but they wanted their own space, and they can't wait to go back! It's a gorgeous, quaint, spacious cottage with beams and some original features yet it has all mod cons. Off road parking is always a plus for us too. A fantastic range of teas greeted us, along with a chilled bottle of prosecco, very welcome, thankyou. We were also impressed with all the little extras left to make things easier for us such as washing powder, dishwasher tablets etc. Sadly the weather wasn't good enough for a BBQ but tucked in a cupboard were charcoal, utensils and firefighters so we look forward to a BBQ next time we visit as the garden is cosy and enclosed. There were plenty of towels, good quality bedding and all that we needed was there. The property is very well equipped, comfortable, well maintained and very clean. It's on a main road but we knew that when we booked it and being a 17th century property there is clearly only so much the owner can do, but secondary glazing had recently been installed and if the location is a problem, then don't book. We didn't find it a problem at all and enjoyed walks into Battle high street with its many pubs, cafes and restaurants and being such a short distance from the main road and railway station it's a great base to explore the gorgeous surrounding area. We loved the cottage and would recommend it to anyone needing a fab base to explore East Sussex and Kent. Sky TV, good wifi and a lovely log burner, with lots of lovely logs to use provided us with some lovely family evenings together.

44 Lower Lake is a lovely cottage, set in a great area. Coast within easy reach, beautiful countryside. Good selection of shops, pubs, restaurants in town within easy walking distance.

It didn't feel like a holiday let, it felt like home. The owner and his family were very friendly and easy to talk to. We loved being there and actually felt a bit sad having to leave.
Mrs Morris

A very stylish cottage with lovely exposed beams, and close to beaches!
